Yes indeed, Alicia. It’s good to see that life still runs through you. I do have to comment on one thing though. I understand that your initial test of Psychoanalysis was disappointing. But do you really think it was “ill-advised“? Smiling over here.
You know, I almost changed that sentence as I imagined you reading it. I suppose a truer sentence would reveal I'm still fascinated by the whole thing and open to trying again. But I liked the rhythm of "ill-advised" and figured it might prompt a comment from you. Mission accomplished!
I'm so glad to see you posting again. I was just thinking yesterday that I should reach out and see how you're doing. I hope that your post means that things have settled down. We still miss you at the writer's group, and we're hoping that you come back.
So good to see your name here, Amy! I’ve really missed our group, too. I’m thinking June for a return, if everyone will still have me. Life’s still a bit chaotic, but the chaos is semi under control.
Are you kidding? We'd be so glad to have you back. We've even discussed how often it'd be acceptable to ask before we'd be putting too much pressure on you.
I'm so glad you're here, Mary. You're the one who so beautifully says “Only connect…” — and the wisdom of those words feels even more urgent in the midst of all this pain.
I'd also like to know if you might like to post one of these essays for Inner Life? I have an opening for November. DM me or write me directly as I think you have my email address and I'll tell you once again how this works. xx Mary
And American and Israel want to colonize Gaza? Is Greenland, Alberta (Canada) and Taiwan next? Geopolitics is becoming indeed like a family drama. Not a big fan of genocide or trade tariffs here or "more advanced" countries weaponizing against so-called barbarian nations.
If fact, this has made China focus more on ties with Saudi and the UAE, where by the way firms like OpenAI and xAI are getting much of their funding now - accelerating things like military AI for you know, our family feuds.
The family drama metaphor is spot on. Though perhaps that's what international relations and diplomacy always has been, albeit in more muted tones? It definitely felt less reality TV-esque in my childhood.
I can’t wait!!!
Same!!
It's happening!!!
Congrats on this milestone!
Thank you Dave!!

Alicia, So glad you are back. I've also written about the survivor dilemma and Israel here -- and this article may be relevant, though slightly tangential, to what you're about to do: https://innerlifecollaborative.substack.com/p/the-survivor-dilemma
